Miranda Kerr for MANGO Spring Summer 2013

Beim Blick auf die MANGO Kampagnenbilder für Spring Summer 2013 fällt auf: vom Stil ähnlich wie die letzten Kampagnen, aber wo ist Kate? Kate Moss wurde von Topmodel Miranda Kerr abgelöst. Ich finde Miranda sehr hübsch und mit ihrer tollen Ausstrahlung gefällt sie mir in der Kampagne sehr gut – auch, wenn ich leider hören musste, dass Miranda bei Victoria’s Secret aussteigt. Der Grund ist allerdings mehr als verständlich: die hübsche Australierin will sich mehr um ihre Familie kümmern können.

Auch ohne Flügel gefällt mir Miranda in der MANGO Sommer-Kollektion. Die beiden Looks oben – übrigens gerade Teil der MANGO “Garments of the Week” – finde ich besonders schön. Ethno ist noch immer sehr angesagt und ich freue mich schon darauf, meine Minnetonkas wieder aus dem Schrank zu holen. Denim ist bei mir ja immer ein großes Thema und gefällt mir an Miranda mit weißem Blazer sehr gut. Weitere Trends, die MANGO in der Kollektion aufgreift sind beispielsweise auch Military und Trend-Farben des Sommers wie Korallenrot und Smaragdgrün.

Wish List: Written with Love

Ich liebe das geschriebene Wort. Nicht nur, weil ich Bücher verschlinge, Germanistik studiert habe und Journalistin bin – sondern auch, weil es meine Accessoires, wie meinen “Love” Ring, den ich vor ein paar Jahren von meinem Freund bekam, so schön schmückt.

Die Strenesse Blue Tasche steht aktuell auf meiner Wunschliste und hat auch noch einen “Special Effect”: bei UV Licht wird der Wort-Print auf der Vorderseite bunt. Sehr cool! Das T-Shirt von Catwalk Junkies spricht mir direkt aus der Seele – wir sollten uns viel mehr an dieses Motto halten. Bei den See by Chloé Armreifen kann ich mich aber einfach nicht entscheiden. Apricot oder Pink?

I love the written word. Not only, because I like to read, studied German and work as a journalist – but also because it’s so pretty on my accessories.

You can see products that are on my wish list at the moment in the picture above. The Strenesse Blue bag even has a special effect: UV light brings out the colors of the print. Very cool! Oh, and the shirt by catwalk junkies just says it all, right? However, I can’t decide between the See by Chloé bangles. Apricot or pink?

Come on Spring! Flowers, flowers, flowers…

Es reicht! Wirklich! Genug mit Schnee, Matsch und Kälte. Ich hätte jetzt gern Frühling. Deshalb habe ich heute für euch meine liebsten Stücke herausgesucht, auf denen schon die Blumen blühen. Blumenprint im Frühling – nicht gerade außergewöhnlich, aber vielleicht motivieren die Blümchen ja das Wetter endlich auf Frühling umzuschalten. Mehr Tücher mit Blumenprints findet ihr auch hier.

Fashion Week Trend: It’s all about the collar

In den letzten zwei Tagen habe ich mir einige Shows auf der Berliner Fashion Week gesehen und beinahe alle hatten eins gemeinsam: der Fokus lag auf dem Hals bzw. dem Schlüsselbein. Bei Rena Lange und C’est tout waren es Schleifen, bei Schumacher Broschen und bei Dimitri glitzernde Statement Ketten. Besonders gut gefallen mir die Schleifen, die ich sicherlich im nächsten Winter nachstylen werde.

I saw quite a few fashion shows at Berlin Fashion Week in the last two days and most of the shows had one thing in common: the focus was on the collar. Rena Lange and C’est tout showed bows, Schumacher brooches and Dimitri sparkling statement necklaces. I especially like the casual bows and will definitely wear them next winter.

My signature fall look: knit pullover over denim shirt

This fall I have one signature look, I could wear every day: comfortable and pretty knit pullovers worn over denim shirts. I have denim shirts in light, medium and dark and love combining them with pullovers. It’s a look that I like, because it’s sporty, edgy and still very trendy – oh, and warm! I am not one of those girls running through the cold without stockings or a pullover. Do you also like pairing denim with knit wear?

Dreaming of summer – long dresses and ruffles at Gucci and Kaviar Gauche

Fall has just begun and I am dreaming of summer 2013 already. Why? Well, first of all, I love summer and had only 2 weeks of summer this year (yeah..thank you Hamburg, so glad to have moved South again) and most of all: have you seen the amazing long dresses for Spring Summer 2013?! Oh, Gucci and Kaviar Gauche! I am in love. Usually, I am not really a big fan of ruffles, but this Gucci dress… oh my. Which color? Pink is always great, white is classic, but I also like turquoise a lot. Decisions, decisions.

Der Herbst hat am Wochende offiziell angefangen und ich träume schon jetzt vom Sommer 2013. Warum? Zuerst einmal ist der Sommer meine absolute Lieblingsjahreszeit und mir waren dieses Jahr nur knapp zwei Wochen Sommer vergönnt (ja…Danke, Hamburg, so froh, dass ich wieder im Süden bin), aber vor allem: habt ihr die unglaublich schönen langen Kleider für Spring Summer 2013 gesehen?! Oh, Gucci und Kaviar Gauche! Ich bin verliebt. Normalerweise, bin ich kein großer Fan von Volants und Rüschen, aber dieses Gucci Kleid… wow. Nur welche Farbe? Pink ist immer toll, weiß einfach klassisch, aber ich finde türkis auch wunderschön. Keine leichte Entscheidung.

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week New York SS 2013: Stripes, stripes, stripes at Tommy Hilfiger

The Tommy Hilfiger collection for Spring Summer 2013 at New York Fashion Week – what can I say? Jason Wu and BCBG Max Azria showed us, how to be sexy in leather and lace (you can see more here) and Tommy Hilfiger just shows us: our natural selves. A Tommy Hilfiger collection has its typical characteristics: American-look, blue and red as signature colors, classic cuts. This is exactly why I love Hilifger so much. We don’t feel like going to some circus while wearing Hilfiger and I have never (!) worn a Hilfiger piece only once (they don’t hide in my closet like other pieces).

The Spring Summer 2013 collection shows the typical Hilfiger-characteristics and lots of stripes. I could wear striped shirts every single day and recently had to stop myself from buying my boyfriend yet another striped Tommy Hilfiger shirt. You just always look good wearing a maritime Look. One of my highlights: sand-colored coarse knit pullovers! I can already imagine wearing one of those with a classic pair of jeans shorts at the beach.

Tommy Hilfiger also showed zigzags that reminded me a little of Missoni, but had the Hilfiger colors blue, red and white. Enough of all the enthusiasm … but what can I say, I guess, I am a your typical Hilfiger girl.

Metallic Trend – silver and gold for our clothes and shoes

There was a time, when the only silver items were our watches and jewelry. Now silver and gold is everywhere. Many girls I see on the streets wear silver or gold pullovers, which I find very pretty. I am more into silver though, because I always wear silver jewelry. I have not bought a silver pullover yet, but am trying to go with the metallic trend with my new silver ballerinas by flip flop (yeah, they also make “real” shoes, not only flip flops). I found them online at Mirapodo and just could not resist. They can be combined really easily. I plan on wearing them with jeans short and a cute top or with my little black dresses. What’s your favorite metallic look: silver or gold?

Es gab eine Zeit, da waren die einzigen silberfarbenen Elemente unserer Outfits unsere Uhren und unser Schmuck. Jetzt ist Silber und Gold einfach überall. Ich sehe viele Mädels mit silberfarbenen oder goldenen Pullovern (liegt wahrscheinlich auch daran, dass es sie momentan bei H&M gibt) und finde den Style sehr schön. Ich favorisiere allerdings ganz klar Silber, weil ich auch Silber-Schmuck liebe und sich dann Schmuck und Outfit gut ergänzen. Einen silberfarbenen Pullover habe ich bisher noch nicht, aber ein wenig bin ich auch dem Metallic Trend verfallen und habe mir bei Mirapodo silberfarbene Ballerinas von Flip Flop bestellt (ja, die machen auch “normale” Schuhe, nicht nur Flip Flops). Ich werde sie wahrscheinlich recht vielfältig stylen: lässig mit Jeans-Shorts und Top oder eleganter mit meinen schwarzen Kleidern. Welcher Metallic Look gefällt euch besser: Silber oder Gold?

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week New York Fall 2012: gloomy Cowboys at Nicholas K

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Fall 2012 is in New York City and I follow every show looking for highlights to share with you. Nicholas K (the label of the siblings Nicholas and Christopher Kunz) showed on Thursday and we saw lots of gloomy cowboys. The collection was very “Berlin”, it could have easily been a collection I saw at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin a few weeks ago. I suppose Dawid Tomaszewski would like Nicholas K. There were cowboy hats, leather and fringes, but mostly in dark earthy shades (grey, taupe, brown). I liked the gloomy and wearable collection (would lose the cowboy hat though). The make-up was also very interesting and a perfect match with the collection – the models had dark bobs and we saw dark burgundy lipstick. Did you like the collection?

Die Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Fall 2012 ist in New York City und ich verfolge jede Show, um euch meine Highlights zu präsentieren. Nicholas K (das Label der Geschwister Nicholas und Christopher Kunz) zeigte am ersten Tag der Fashion Week und wir sahen düstere Cowboys. Die Kollektion war sehr “Berlin”, es hätte auch eine Show sein können, die ich mir vor einigen Wochen auf der Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Berlin angesehen habe. Ich denke, Dawid Tomaszewski wäre recht angetan von Nicholas K. Auf dem Runway sahen wir große Cowboy Hüte, viel Leder und Fransen, alles meist in Erdtönen (grau, taupe, braun). Ich mochte die lässige, tragbare, wenn auch recht düstere Kollektion (würde jedoch im echten Leben den Cowboy Hut weglassen). Das Make-Up der Models war auch sehr interessant und passte perfekt zur Kollektion – die Models trugen dunkle Bobs und dunkelroten Lippenstift. Wie findet ihr die Kollektion?

Men’s Fashion Trend: Elbow Patches

Whenever I see elbow patches on blazers I envision an Ivy League university campus on a crisp fall day. While the leaves are falling, a handsome student carrying a few books is making his way to the library. Elbow patches are one of the huge trends in male fashion this autumn/winter. I like the patches on blazers and sometimes also on pullovers. However, I don’t like them on dress shirts at all. It simply looks like the shirt is old and the worn parts on the elbows had to be replaced by the patches (which is what elbow patches were used for, before they were just placed on clothes for decorative reasons). How do you like elbow patches? I like them, if the look is still casual – ruffled hair, nerdy glasses and jeans e.g. – we don’t want the guys to look like old professors…

Immer wenn ich Blazer mit Ellenbogen-Aufnähern (neudeutsch auch: Ellenbogen-Patches) sehe, denke ich sofort an einen Ivy League Uni Campus an einem schönen Herbsttag. Während die Blätter von den Bäumen fallen, macht sich ein ein gutaussehender Student mit ein paar Büchern auf dem Arm auf den Weg zur Bibliothek. Ellenbogen-Patches sind einer der großen Trends in der Herrenmode diese Herbst/Winter-Saison. Ich mag die Patches auf Blazern und auf manchen Pullovern (eher Grobstrick-Pullover). Auf Hemden gefallen sie mir allerdings überhaupt nicht. Da sieht es einfach nur so aus, als wäre das Hemd alt und der Stoff an den Ellenbogen durchgerieben, sodass er mit den Patches versehen werden musste (aus diesem Grund wurden Ellenbogen-Patches auch zunächst genutzt, bevor sie auf neuwertige Kleidung aufgenäht wurden). Wie gefallen euch die Ellenbogen-Aufnäher? Ich mag sie, wenn sie lässig kombiniert werden – mit zerzausten Haaren, Nerdbrille und Jeans beispielsweise – wir wollen ja schließlich nicht, dass die Jungs aussehen wie alte Professoren…
