Today, I am invited to a wedding (not the reception itself, but the party afterwards) and wanted to show you my outfit. I could not decide which dress to wear, but finally chose my new blue Hallhuber dress. Sadly, it is not summer yet, so I added black tights and a pink blazer. Of course, I am wearing jewelry my boyfriend gave to me during the last years: a beautiful Tiffany & Co. bracelet with a tiny heart (Elsa Peretti collection) and a necklace from Pearlfection with a heart pendant engraved with (“Love” and “Jens & Susan”). I know this is not the typical wedding outfit, but I still think I am dressed for the occasion. What do you think?

Heute bin ich zu einer Hochzeit eingeladen (nicht zur Trauung selbst, sondern zur Hochzeitsfeier am Abend) und wollte euch kurz mein Outfit zeigen. Ich konnte mich nur schwer entscheiden, was ich anziehen soll, aber habe mich dann für mein neues blaues Hallhuber Kleid entschieden. Da leider doch noch nicht richtig Sommer ist, kombiniere ich schwarze Strumpfhosen und meinen pinken Blazer zum Kleid. Natürlich trage ich zur Hochzeit Schmuck, den mir mein Freund in den letzten Jahren geschenkt hat: ein wunderschönes Tiffany’s Armband mit Herzanhänger (Elsa Peretti Kollektion) und eine Kette von Pearlfection, ebenfalls mit Herz (eingraviert: “Love” und “Jens & Susan”). Es ist kein typisches Hochzeitsoutfit, aber ich denke, es passt trotzdem zum Anlass. Was meint ihr?

In honor of Tiffany’s 175th anniversary, Tiffany & Co. introduces RUBEDO metal. The beautiful rose color is elegant and classy. The RUBEDO metal 1837 collection will only be available for the anniversary year 2012 and is engraved with Charles Lewis Tiffany’s signature. I especially like the combination of silver and rubedo. My favorite is the delicate ring, but the necklaces are also extremely beautiful (but unfortunately totally out of my price range).

Anlässlich des 175-jährigen Jubiläums präsentiert Tiffany & Co. ein neues Schmuckmetall namens RUBEDO. Das wunderschöne rosé ist elegant und zeitlos. Die RUBEDO metal 1837 Kollektion ist nur in diesem Jahr erhältlich und jedes Stück ziert eine Gravur von Charles Lewis Tiffany. Besonders gefällt mir die Kombination von Silber und Rubedo. Mein Favorit (der sich sehr gut in meinem Schmuckkästchen machen würde) ist der schmale Ring, aber auch die Ketten sind wunderschön (liegen aber sehr weit über meinem Budget).

What we love about the Academy Awards? Well, yes, we also ask ourselves: “who will win an Oscar?”, but mostly: “What are the celebrities wearing?” Kate Hudson and Cameron Diaz chose the right look and will not make the list of “fashion-faux-pas” of the 84th Academy Awards. Cameron, like Gwyneth Paltrow, had a very clean look wearing a white dress and not much jewelry. Kate Hudson was seen at the Vanity Fair Party dressed in a beautiful red gown and smiling as always. Both blondes chose silver and diamond jewelry by Tiffany & Co. I like both actresses (and their movies!), but cannot decide which Oscar look I prefer. By just looking at the pictures, I would say: Kate Hudson. What do you think?

Was wir an der Oscar-Nacht lieben? Natürlich fragen wir uns “Wer wird einen Oscar bekommen?”, aber am wichtigsten ist doch die Frage “Was tragen die Stars?” Kate Hudson und Cameron Diaz haben sich für tolle Outfits entschieden und kommen nicht auf die schwarze Liste der “Fashion-Faux-Pas” der 84. Academy Awards. Cameron zeigte sich, wie auch übrigens Gwyneth Paltrow, in einem klassischen Look sehr clean und trug nur wenig Schmuck. Kate Hudson wurde bei der Vanity Fair Party in einem kräftigen roten Kleid gesehen. Beide Blondinen haben sich für Schmuck von Tiffany & Co. entschieden. Ich liebe beide Schauspielerinnen (und ihre Filme!), kann mich aber nicht richtig entscheiden, welcher Oscar Look mir besser gefällt. Wenn ich die Fotos vergleiche, würde ich sagen: Kate Hudson. Was meint ihr?

Stylist, designer and fashion expert Rachel Zoe has designed windows for Tiffany & Co. New York City on the occasion of the Academy Awards. I like Rachel Zoe’s celebrity stylings (but cannot understand her fixation on Size Zero – just let them eat) and love the idea that she had to design a window for each decade of old Hollywood: 1930 – 1970. I wanted to show you all her creative windows of Tiffany’s Fifth Avenue store and especially the 1960′s window, in which Fleur de Mer is being displayed. The clip that is set with diamonds and sapphires once was a gift by Richard Burton to Elizabeth Taylor in 1965. If you are in New York City these days, you have to stop by at Tiffany’s on Fifth Avenue.

Stylistin, Designerin und Modeexpertin Rachel Zoe hat anlässlich der Academy Awards Schaufenster für Tiffany & Co. New York City gestaltet. Ich mag Rachel Zoes Celebrity Stylings (kann allerdings ihre Fixierung auf Size Zero überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen) und liebe die Idee, dass sie ein Schaufenster für jedes Jahrzehnt des alten Hollywood designen sollte: 1930 -1970. Ich möchte euch all ihre kreativen Schaufensterdekorationen zeigen, aber besonders liegt mir das Schaufenster der 1960er Jahre am Herzen. Dort wird der Fleur de Mer gezeigt. Der mit Diamanten und Saphiren besetzte Clip war einst ein Geschenk von Richard Burton an Elizabeth Taylor im Jahr 1965. Falls ihr in diesen Tagen in New York City seid, dann genießt auf jeden Fall den Schaufensterbummel bei Tiffany’s auf der Fifth Avenue.

Tiffany, Vain and Essie

At the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin Fall/Winter 2012 there was a booth, where you could have your nails painted with the most amazing colors by Essie. I decided on a pinkish coral color (you all know that I love pink and coral; the Essie color is called “cute as a button” in case you want to purchase it), because it was a good match with my neon-colored Vain bracelets. My jewelry was “Tiffany’s goes Vain”. I wore my heart-shaped ring by Tiffany & Co. that I wear everyday and combined my old Return to Tiffany’s bracelet with my new colorful Vain bracelets. I hope you like it!

Auf der Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin Fall/Winter 2012 gab es diesmal einen Essie-Stand, an dem man sich die Fingernägel lackieren lassen konnte. Ich habe mich für ein “koralliges Pink” entschieden (ihr wisst ja wie sehr ich die Farben Pink und Koralle liebe; die Farbe nennt sich “cute as a button” falls ihr euch für die Farbe interessiert), weil es sehr gut zu meinen neon-farbenen Vain Armbändern gepasst hat. Meine Schmuck-Auswahl lässt sich mit “Tiffany’s goes Vain” betiteln. Ich trug meinen Herz-Ring von Tiffany & Co., den ich eigentlich täglich trage und kombinierte mein altes Return to Tiffany’s Armband mit meinen neuen bunten Vain Armbändern. Ich hoffe meine Schmuck-Nagellack-Kombination gefällt euch!

What I like most about the Oscar’s and the Golden Globe Awards? The outfits! Actress Jessica Biel looked beautiful in a white lace dress and a long platin Tiffany & Co. necklace. One Fashion Golden Globe to Jessica Biel! However, we already knew from the Europe Music Awards that white lace is very pretty. I was not too keen about Natalie Portman’s Lanvin dress for her tiny frame, but loved her clean and classic Dior make up (I love Dior make up, especially the foundations).

Was ich am meisten an den Oscars und Golden Globes liebe? Die Outfits! Schauspielerin Jessica Biel sah in ihrem weißen Spitzenkleid und der Tiffany & Co. Kette aus Platin einfach wunderschön aus. Schmuck von Tiffany’s gehört ja wie ihr wisst zu meinen absoluten Faves und wie schön weiße Spitze aussehen kann, haben wir ja schon bei den EMA’s bei Selena Gomez gesehen. Ein Fashion Golden Globe geht also an Jessica Biel! Natalie Portmans Lanvin Kleid gefiel mir dagegen nicht so gut an ihrer zarten Figur, aber ich mochte ihr klassisches Make-Up von Dior (eine meiner Lieblingsmarken für dekorative Kosmetik).

Tiffany’s is one of the places in New York City that still has this old magic to it. Every time I visit the store on Fifth Avenue (tourists or not), I am instantly reminded of the opening scene of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. Didn’t Audrey just look divine eating her croissant in front of the tall old building?

I have to admit that I have quite a lot Tiffany’s jewelry… I just love the Elsa Peretti Open Heart collection and am very blessed that my parents and boyfriend gave me some pieces as gifts.

This year, there are very cute new Tiffany’s charms for Christmas. I especially love the “Rudolph the red nosed reindeer”-charm.

Tiffany’s ist einer der Orte in New York City, der noch immer diesen Zauber des alten New Yorks versprüht. Bei jedem Besuch im Tiffany’s auf der Fifth Avenue (Touristen hin oder her) erinnere ich mich augenblicklich an die Anfangsszene von “Frühstück bei Tiffany’s”. Sah Audrey nicht einfach göttlich aus als sie ihr Croissant vor dem alten Gebäude gegessen hat?

Ich muss zugeben, dass ich ein paar Schmuckstücke von Tiffany’s besitze… Ich liebe die Elsa Peretti Open Heart Kollektion und freue mich sehr, dass ich von meinen Eltern und meinem Freund einige Stücke als Weihnachtsgeschenk bzw. Geburtstagsgeschenk bekommen habe.

In diesem Jahr gibt es von Tiffany & Co. süße neue Charms zu Weihnachten. Mein Favorit? Natürlich das “Rudolph the red nosed reindeer”-Charm. Nur schade, dass die Anhänger nicht wirklich “ganz jahres tauglich” sind.

The Great Gatsby – comeback

The Great Gatsby

I read the novel “The Great Gatsby” when I was still in school and loved F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel taking place in the “roaring 20s” in New York City. First published in 1925 “The Great Gatsby” now has made a huge comeback.

Ralph Lauren showed his Spring/Summer 2012 collection just recently, which was inspired by “The Great Gatsby” and the 1920s – a very elegant collection filled with silky pastel-colored pieces.

Now I also heard that my favorite jeweler Tiffany’s will provide the jewelry for a 3D-remake of “The Great Gatsby” (in cinemas December 2012). I am very excited to see this movie – being directed by Baz Luhrmann and starring Leonardo Di Caprio. I am really looking forward to catching a glimpse of the Tiffany’s jewelry and will show you pictures as soon as they are available.

For now I want to show you a T-shirt that I bought this summer at the bookstore “Strand” in New York City – not knowing yet that there will be a new “The Great Gatsby” trend. I am such a trendsetter… just kidding.

“The Great Gatsby” habe ich gelesen als ich aufs Gymnasium ging und habe schon damals F. Scott Fitzgeralds gesellschaftskritischen Roman über das New York der 1920er Jahre geliebt. Nachdem “The Great Gasby” (bzw, “Der große Gatsby”) bereits 1925 veröffentlicht wurde, feiert er heute ein großes Comeback.

Ralph Lauren hat gerade erst für den nächsten Sommer eine Kollektion gezeigt, die stark von “The Great Gatsby” und den 1920er Jahren inspiriert war – eine sehr elegante Kollektion mit fließenden Seiden-Kreationen in Pastellfarben.

Jetzt habe ich mitbekommen, dass mein liebster Schmuckhersteller Tiffany’s die 3D-Neuverfilmung von “The Great Gatsby” ausstatten wird (Filmstart voraussichtlich im Dezember 2012). Ich freue mich riesig auf den Film von Baz Luhrmann, in dem Leonardo Di Caprio die Hauptrolle spielen wird. Sobald ich die heiß ersehnten Fotos der Tiffany’s Kollektion erhalte, zeige ich sie euch natürlich sofort hier auf Sue loves NYC.

Heute möchte ich euch ein T-Shirt zeigen, dass ich letzten Sommer im New Yorker Buchladen “Strand” gekauft habe – da wusste ich noch nicht, dass ein neuer “The Great Gatsby”-Trend entstehen wird. Was bin ich nur für ein Trendsetter.. (ich mache nur Spaß).
