Ladies, let’s roll out the red carpet for these perfect reds: the Pure Color Perfect Reds collection by Estée Lauder. As you all know, I like a natural look. Therefore, I often wear classic red or pink colors on my nails – blue and green is cool, but I just think red/pink looks prettier for my everyday look.
Did you know that the ancient Egyptians used henna or even blood (iuh!) to paint their nails red? Fortunately, we have pretty nail polish nowadays. Makeup director Tom Pecheux has created new shades of red for Estée Lauder from light red to purple. My favorite color of the collection is “Beautiful Liar” (on the right), because it is bright and more pink. True vision technology makes the nail polish look brilliant and last longer. I always think it is important that nail polish is easy to apply and therefore, I can recommend Estée Lauder nail polish. The Pure Color Perfect Reds are fun and I believe, there is a red for everyone.
You can take a closer look at every color in the gallery after the cut!
… therefore, many labels and designers give to charity by creating limited editions. Estee Lauder also has limited editions and even turned the Empire State Building pink to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Estee Lauder’s breast cancer awareness campaign. Elizabeth Hurley flicked the switch to illuminate the Empire State Building with pink light – the color of the international breast cancer fund raising campaign.
Tommy Hilfiger’s BHI bag supports “Breast Health International” – the organisation helps women with breast cancer to handle costs that are not covered by their health insurance. The BHI bag ist beautiful and the blue, red and white leather shows the colors that are typical for Tommy Hilfiger.
Hard Rock Café has also designed a collection named “Pinktober” for “Breast Cancer Awareness month”. The collection is available in Berlin, Munich and Cologne and part of the proceeds go to to Brustkrebs Deutschland e.V.
Stella & Dot – you might remember the event in Berlin last week – also designed some special items and supports DKMS, the German Bone Marrow Donor Center for “Breast Cancer Awareness Month”. I especially like the “hope” bracelet with a tiny rosegold angel wing.
Let’s don’t forget our preventive medical checkups!
Last weekend, I had a shooting with beautiful dresses and needed a good make-up to be camera ready. Camera Ready? Why not try the new Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream. Did you know that Smashbox Studios were founded by Dean and Davis Factor, great-grandchildren of Hollywood-make-up-legend Max Factor?
I have to admit, I was a little sceptical whether the BB Cream might be too sheer. First, I applied a litte moisturizer and then applied the BB Cream with my fingers. You can also use the Smashbox BB Cream without moisturizer, but I find it easier to apply the BB Cream this way. If you need more coverage, you can also use the BB Cream under your foundation. I only used a little powder (Bobbi Brown – pale yellow), because of the warm weather. For my everyday look, I might just use the BB Cream without powder – it already minimizes shine. I like products that are easy to use and I have to say my skin looked simply naturally beautiful and radiant with the Smashbox BB Cream. My color is “light”, because, sadly, I did not manage to get a tan this summer. I would recommend using the Smashbox BB Cream for light coverage during the day and combine it with your foundation at night.
I also tried Smashbox O-Glow for the first time for this shooting (I will show you the pictures this week). It’s so much fun to use, because the clear gel turns into blush, when you apply it to your skin. O-Glow is called “intuitive cheek color” and reacts with your skin chemistry and turns your cheeks the color you would naturally blush. At first, I applied too little of the gel and could not see a difference, but after trying for a few minutes I could see a natural pink on my cheeks. I have to get used to using a gel blush, but I really like the result.
Conclusion: I can recommend both products for a natural look. I will use the Smashbox BB Cream during the day and combine it with foundation and powder at night. O-Glow is such a fun product and feels really soft on your skin.
