Last weekend, I had a shooting with beautiful dresses and needed a good make-up to be camera ready. Camera Ready? Why not try the new Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream. Did you know that Smashbox Studios were founded by Dean and Davis Factor, great-grandchildren of Hollywood-make-up-legend Max Factor?
I have to admit, I was a little sceptical whether the BB Cream might be too sheer. First, I applied a litte moisturizer and then applied the BB Cream with my fingers. You can also use the Smashbox BB Cream without moisturizer, but I find it easier to apply the BB Cream this way. If you need more coverage, you can also use the BB Cream under your foundation. I only used a little powder (Bobbi Brown – pale yellow), because of the warm weather. For my everyday look, I might just use the BB Cream without powder – it already minimizes shine. I like products that are easy to use and I have to say my skin looked simply naturally beautiful and radiant with the Smashbox BB Cream. My color is “light”, because, sadly, I did not manage to get a tan this summer. I would recommend using the Smashbox BB Cream for light coverage during the day and combine it with your foundation at night.
I also tried Smashbox O-Glow for the first time for this shooting (I will show you the pictures this week). It’s so much fun to use, because the clear gel turns into blush, when you apply it to your skin. O-Glow is called “intuitive cheek color” and reacts with your skin chemistry and turns your cheeks the color you would naturally blush. At first, I applied too little of the gel and could not see a difference, but after trying for a few minutes I could see a natural pink on my cheeks. I have to get used to using a gel blush, but I really like the result.
Conclusion: I can recommend both products for a natural look. I will use the Smashbox BB Cream during the day and combine it with foundation and powder at night. O-Glow is such a fun product and feels really soft on your skin.
