I am so excited to tell you all about my favorite city in the world, I don’t really know where to start. Shopping? Sightseeing? Favorite places? I decided on one thing, I enjoy very much every time I am in New York: food. One of my favorite restaurants is located at one of the most touristy places in New York City – but don’t judge a book by its cover… or in this case surroundings. I just love Tony’s at Times Square.
Why? Well first of all I like Italian food and if I want to spend my money shopping for clothes, I don’t want to eat at expensive restaurants all the time. At Tony’s I ate the most delicious pasta and chicken parmesan. It is not high-priced and you will not leave the restaurant still hungry (you know like if you eat at a fancy place and could eat a burger afterwards). The normal servings are very large and feed two, but you can also have individual servings at lunch – although sharing meatballs the size of baseballs with my dad was so much fun!
In case you are still not convinced: the atmosphere at Tony’s is so much fun. The walls showcase caricatures of Hollywood stars. My friend Julia and I once could not concentrate on our food because we could not find out which actor was portrayed (I think it was Alec Baldwin).

Ich freue mich darauf, euch auch hier auf Sue loves NYC alles über meine Lieblingsstadt zu erzählen. Da weiß ich gar nicht richtig wo ich anfangen soll. Shopping? Sightseeing? Die schönsten Orte? Heute habe ich mich für eine Sache entschieden, die ich jedes Mal in New York unglaublich genieße: Essen. Eines meiner absoluten Lieblingsrestaurants befindet sich am touristischsten Ort Manhattans, dem Times Square. Das soll euch aber bitte nicht abschrecken, denn es ist trotzdem ein toller Restaurant-Tipp. Ich liebe das Tony’s am Times Square!
Warum? Also zunächst einmal mag ich italienisches Essen, am besten viel davon und nicht zu teuer. Diese drei Punkte treffen auf Tony’s voll und ganz zu. Natürlich lässt sich streiten, ob die Amis wirklich italienisch kochen, aber das Essen (besonders die Pasta-Sauce) ist im Tony’s einfach unglaublich lecker. Kennt ihr das Gefühl, wenn ihr aus einem Luxus-Restaurant kommt und könntet locker noch einen Burger verdrücken? Bei Tony’s werdet ihr auf jeden Fall satt. Die Portionen sind zum Teilen gedacht, weil sie so groß sind – mittags gibt es aber auch einzelne Portionen. Das Teilen der Baseball-großen Fleisch”bällchen” mit meinem Dad hat aber einfach viel zu viel Spaß gemacht, deshalb empfehle ich euch die großen Portionen.
Falls ihr noch nicht überzeugt seid: die Atmosphäre und Einrichtung im Tony’s finde ich auch super. Viel dunkles Holz, rot-weiß karierte Tischdecken und an den Wänden hängen lustige Karikaturen von (Hollywood) Stars. Als ich einmal mit meiner Freundin Julia dort essen war, konnten wir uns gar nicht richtig auf unser Essen konzentrieren, weil uns partout nicht einfallen wollte, welcher Schauspieler auf dem Bild gegenüber zu sehen war (ich glaube es war Alec Baldwin).

In New York City übertreffen sich die großen Kaufhäuser mit ihren Weihnachtsschaufenstern jedes Jahr. Besonders schön finde ich immer die Schaufenster von Tiffany & Co. in ihrem Flagshipstore auf der 5th Avenue.
